From Term 1, 2019 all new ongoing volunteers must be trained using these resources.

Updates have been made to the following:

  • RAN-EC volunteer online course (for volunteers to complete with the approval of the site leader)
  • RAN-EC volunteer handbook
  • RAN-EC volunteer certificate of participation
  • For SA Education Department Schools, all resources are available on the Department for Education website.

Volunteers who have already done the RAN-EC course for volunteers are not required to do the 2018-2020 version of the course.

The SA Education Department site leader is responsible for facilitating this training. Third party providers like LAP can facilitate the sessions for their own volunteers. Information about this is also on the Education Department’s website Responding abuse and neglect training

    Mentoring .. WIIFBOU

(What’s in it for both of us?)

Motivation or “what’s in it for me”is an essential consideration for both mentors and mentees. What are the relationship qualities, processes, and language that can support young mentees to help shape the outcomes of a mentoring experience? About our Speaker

Erica Womersley has a background in education, with experience working with young and older children, parents and community and in developing teachers and school leaders. As Manager of the SA Institute for Educational Leadership DECD, Erica led a range of professional development for leaders including mentoring of early career teachers and an Industry Mentor program for Education Directors. In retirement Erica has extended her experience in community mentoring through involvement in environmental projects.
